WHAT TO BRING
For our dive trips yourself, sun lotion and a smile. We take care of everything else.
If you are bringing significant amounts of dive gear come direct to the shop from the ferries and leave it with us and we’ll send it to our boat to save you carrying it around the island
Bear in mind that there are no ATMs so bring enough cash for the duration of your stay, cash advances on credit cards
can be expensive
The usual advice applies.
These islands are a long way offshore and although there are shops carrying basic goods there are not the range of products available on the mainland. Prices are not significantly more than the rest of Thailand but please bear in mind that the shops here have large transportation overheads so expect to pay a little more. If in doubt bring what you need with you. Sun lotions and similar are always sold at a premium in tourist locations.
Only very basic medicines are available. We have supplies to deal with emergencies but best to bring what you need, and enough of. A basic first aid kit is always a sensible precaution. Parents of young children, bring it all !!!! Most people stay a lot longer than they planned.
Some of the resorts have limited times when they run their generators, candles are a must but be careful. A lot of the cheaper accommodation is bamboo, very flammable. The island is generally OK with regard to mosquitos but a few coils would make evenings on your balcony much more pleasant.
We have electricity 24/7 and will happily re-charge anything that needs to be.
Internet access is available but not nearly as cheap as the mainland. Advise friends and family you may be disappearing from cyberspace for a little time. DTAC and GSM mobiles work on the island. At the present time this is the only mobile provider that does.
A couple of good books, hat, swimsuit sunglasses and your sarong and you’ve got all you need.
